FAQ’s

Q – Do you allow dogs?

A – Yes we allow 2 dogs free with every booking. Please check with us if you have more than 2 dogs. No banned breads please and dogs MUST be kept on a lead.

Q – Can I drive to my pitch?

A – We are a vehicle free site, we only allow cars in the car park. We have wheelbarrows to help with taking your belongings to your pitch. Our friendly warden will also be on hand with the buggy if you need help with larger items.

Q – Can I charge my mobile phone anywhere?

A – We are a ‘wild camping’ site, so don’t have electricity on the pitches. We only have electricity for the facilities. We advise you purchase a battery pack to keep your phones charged or charge them in the car when you go out for the day.

Q – Do you have a fridge/freezer?

A – We don’t currently have a fridge but we do have a freezer. This can be used to store ice blocks in hot weather.

Q – Is there a safe place I can secure my bike?

A – We don’t have secure bike storage on site. However, many of our guests decide to secure their bike to a tree on their pitch.

Q – Do you have a shop?

A – We don’t currently have a shop, but we do sell firewood, kindling, matches and firelighters on site.

Q – Is there a washing up area?

A – We’re working on a warm washing up area, at the moment we only have cold water. It’s a ‘rinse off’ area only. We advise you to wash up with warm water on your pitch.

Q – Can I explore the WW1 Trenches?

A – Yes, however you need to make a booking with our excellent volunteer WW1 trench guide Ian. Please see the details on our ‘Things to Do’ page.

Q – Can I add people/items to my booking?

A – Yes, if you made an account when you booked you can add extras and people to your booking yourself. If you’re having any issues please let us know and we can do this for you.

Q – Do you allow bookings for special events such as 50th birthday parties/weddings

A – We do allow bookings for special events, however you cannot book online and you will need to book out the whole site. We do this so campers aren’t disturbed during their stay. Please enquire with us via email for quotes.

Q – Can I bring my camping toilet?

A – Yes, we have a chemical disposal point so you can bring your camping toilet. If you forget yours, we do have some simple camping toilets for hire.

Q – Do you have toilets and showers?

A – Yes, we currently have 4 flushing toilets and 2 warm showers. We’re in the process of building another toilet near reception for the summer.

Q – Can I have a campfire?

A – Yes, you can have a campfire providing you use the designated fire basket on your pitch and seasoned wood purchased from us.

Q – Can I play music?

A – No, we don’t allow amplified music. This is so other campers holidays aren’t disturbed.

Q – Can I arrive late? (After 5pm – 7pm)

A – If you have stayed with us before, yes this is fine. Please contact the Warden for the gate code. If this is your first time staying with us we advise you don’t arrive late. It may not be easy finding your pitch in our woodland without assistance. If you’re a late arrival, our Warden will contact you with self check in details on the day of your arrival.

Q – How do I know what to order for my campfire?

A – We sell, logs, kindling, firelighters, matches and campfire starter boxes. If you’re a seasoned camper and used to lighting log fires then please pick the combination you require. If you’re new to camping or not very experienced lighting log fires, we recommend the ‘Campfire Starter Box’. This contains everything you need to start a campfire. Our friendly wardens will always be on hand to help if you’re having trouble starting your campfire! Please just ask.
